Paris: Paris Saint-Germain strengthened its position at the top of the Ligue 1 standings after a 3-0 win over visiting FC Nantes on Wednesday in a rescheduled match from the 26th round. The defending champion settled the contest in the first half with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (13th minute, penalty) and Desire Doue (37th), before the Georgian added a third early in the second half (50th minute). According to Qatar News Agency, with the win, the Parisian side, which had suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais in the previous round, raised its tally to 66 points in first place, four points ahead of RC Lens in second, which reached the domestic cup final with a 4-1 victory over Montpellier in Tuesday's semifinal. Nantes continued its poor run, collecting just six points in the second half of the season from one win and three draws against nine defeats, remaining on 20 points in 17th place, five points behind Auxerre in 16th.
