Gaza Civil Defense Recovers 30 Bodies from Al-Shifa Complex Interim Cemeteries

Gaza city: The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip has recovered 30 Palestinian bodies from interim cemeteries within the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City. These bodies were initially buried on an urgent basis due to a recent escalation in conflict.

According to Qatar News Agency, for four consecutive days, civil defense personnel have been working to retrieve bodies from various random cemeteries scattered across the enclave. The Civil Defense reported the discovery of a new mass grave containing over 30 bodies within the medical facility's perimeter. Efforts are ongoing to recover bodies from these graves, with the total number of bodies reaching approximately 300.

In early December 2025, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced the start of transferring bodies buried inside the medical complex. This relocation will be conducted in coordination with relevant authorities. The ministry also stated that after a specific date, any unclaimed bodies would be considered unidentified and moved to Deir Al-Balah Cemetery in the central Gaza Strip.
