Davos: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday with the Swiss Confederation to establish a strategic dialogue between the two sides.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was co-signed by GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed AlBudaiwi and Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis. This significant agreement took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.
The MoU aims to develop bilateral relations and demonstrates the commitment of the GCC and Switzerland to enhance their strategic partnership across various levels. This collaboration underscores both parties' dedication to strengthening ties and fostering dialogue to address mutual interests.
On this occasion, Al Budaiwi highlighted the MoU as a pivotal step in reinforcing cooperation and partnership relations. He noted that it opens broader horizons for coordination and consultation in areas of mutual interest, paving the way for enhanced collaboration between the GCC and Switzerland.
