Doha: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, welcomed the announcement of an immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan, expressing hope that this agreement will contribute to enhancing security and stability in the South Asia region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Secretary General affirmed the GCC's support for regional and international efforts aimed at calming tensions between the two countries, stressing the importance of resorting to dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.

Albudaiwi also expressed his aspirations that this agreement would be a step towards a comprehensive resolution of the conflict between the two countries, ensuring lasting peace and security for their peoples.
