The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held a coordination meeting on Monday via videoconferencing:he General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held a coordination meeting on Monday via videoconferencing, as part of preparations for the 161st Ministerial Council meeting of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Foreign Ministers of the GCC States, scheduled to be held on September 9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was chaired by GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, and was attended by senior officials of the General Secretariat. The GCC Secretary-General said that the meeting aims to coordinate and prepare fully and comprehensively for all topics that will be presented on the agenda of the ministerial meeting, which will include a number of files related to the course of joint Gulf action, as well as a number of files related to regional and international issues. He noted that during the 161st Ministerial Council meeting, the GCC States will hold seve ral joint ministerial meetings with a number of countries, to discuss cooperation and joint coordination and exchange views on regional and international situations. Al Budaiwi stressed that the GCC ministerial meetings come as a continuation of enhancing the joint efforts between the GCC States to develop cooperation and integration between them, through exchanging views and approving many GCC decisions and recommendations, in addition to following up on the implementation of joint Gulf initiatives and projects that aim to achieve sustainable development, security and stability for the GCC States and their peoples.
