GCC Secretary General and Austrian Foreign Minister Address Regional Escalation and Security Concerns

Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger on Tuesday. The discussions focused on the Iranian attacks on the Gulf states, examining the implications of escalating tensions and the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered a significant threat to both regional and international security.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also served as a platform for reviewing the current state of GCC-Austrian relations. Both parties exchanged insights on the latest regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of maintaining security and stability in the region.

The Austrian foreign minister reiterated her country's unwavering support for the GCC states amid Iranian aggression. She highlighted the necessity for enhanced international collaboration to cease these attacks and safeguard the region's security and stability.
