Muscat: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi expressed the GCC's hope today that the consultations between the United States and Iran will yield positive results that contribute to de-escalation and strengthen security and stability in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi welcomed the round of talks held Friday between the United States and Iran, commending the Sultanate of Oman for hosting these talks and supporting regional and international dialogue and understanding.
He affirmed the GCC states' commitment to maintaining stability and security in the region, noting Oman's efforts in this regard, in cooperation with several countries, to bridge the gap between the US and Iran and create a conducive environment for constructive dialogue that serves regional stability and enhances the prospects for peace.
