GCC Secretary-General: Workshop on Risk Assessment, Classification Aims to Develop Practical Skills

Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said that the joint workshop on risk assessment and classification in the Gulf region aims to enhance knowledge of risk and threat assessment methodologies as well as develop the practical skills of specialists in data collection and prioritising risks. This came during the joint workshop on risk assessment and classification in the Gulf region, organized by the Gulf Research Centre and the GCC Emergency Management Centre and held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, on Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi praised the Gulf Research Centre's cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat in holding workshops and activities that contribute to strengthening and exchanging expertise. GCC countries always seek to upgrade the capabilities of their concerned agencies and adopt unified methodologies for assessing risks and threats, in order to bolster member states' readiness, said the Secretary General.

Albudaiwi praised the workshop in its presentation of scientific methodologies, practical applications for data collection, and field training on risk assessment and classification operations within the context of the Gulf environment. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the organizers of the workshop.
