The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has affirmed that the GCC countries always seek to enhance their economies and strive to open new global markets through cooperation with countries and organisations around the world in a way that contributes to the benefit and welfare of their peoples. 'The GCC and Hong Kong are keen on strengthening economic, trade, and investment relations, given the economic strength and influence they both possess, which will contribute to achieving their common goals," he added. his came during Albudaiwi's meeting today with Executive Director of the Trade Development Council Margaret Fong and Director-General of Trade and Industry in Hong Kong Maggie Wong, each separately, in Hong Kong. During the meetings, several vital economic aspects were discussed, including promoting trade relations between the GCC countries and Hong Kong, highlighting the importance of enhancing these relations to open new prospects in the trade, economic, and investment fields. In addition, the Director-General of Trade and Industry in Hong Kong presented a briefing on the trade exchange indicators between the GCC countries and Hong Kong, and discussed the idea of signing a free trade agreement between the two sides. These meetings by the Secretary-General in Hong Kong are part of the GCC's efforts to enhance external trade and economic relations and open new avenues for international cooperation, to achieve more growth and prosperity in the GCC countries.
