Georgetown University in Qatar, one of the partner universities of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has concluded its summer program for high school students, which aims to empower students and provide them with basic skills to pass entrance exams at the university level.
During the program, students enjoyed three-week courses and a series of classes in English, during which they gained valuable insights and practical experience that would prepare them to excel in their academic endeavors to enter the universities they aspire to. It also included lessons in world geography, critical reading, academic writing, international relations, and global politics, in a way that enhances a deeper understanding of the interdependence between people from the countries of the world.
Students also learned about the four majors offered by Georgetown in Qatar: International History, International Economics, International Politics, and Culture and Politics, in addition to the many benefits of studying in a unique interdisciplinary environment at QF.
In addition to the classes, summer program participants received specialized SAT and ACT preparation to boost entrance exam scores at target universities.
Educational Enrichment Manager at Georgetown University Jibin Koshy indicated that the summer study program enabled students to become more self-confident and ready to face the challenges of university life by providing a comprehensive and intellectually stimulating environment that enables them to broaden their horizons and experience university-level curricula and build their basic skills.
The summer program is one of the many targeted and attractive programs offered by Georgetown University in Qatar that are designed to enhance the academic and personal growth of students in Qatar and abroad. (QNA)
