Doha: Germany's inflation rate rose to 2.2% year-on-year in August, compared with an increase of 2% in the previous two months. The Federal Statistical Office of Germany reported in its preliminary data released today that the monthly inflation rate in the country for August stood at 0.1%.
According to Qatar News Agency, although the surge in prices that Germany experienced following the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022 has eased, the rising cost of food continues to weigh heavily on many consumers. The office also indicated that core inflation, which excludes the more volatile items such as food and energy, remained steady at 2.7% year-on-year in August, the same level recorded in July.
