Doha: Gold prices closed Wednesday's trading session higher after rising to the highest level earlier in the session. According to Qatar News Agency, gold prices rose in spot transactions to $2,946.85 per ounce earlier, but closed slightly higher by 0.2 percent to $2,928.88 as the dollar rose by the end of the session, while US gold futures fell by 0.1 percent to $2,945.50. As for other precious metals, the price of silver in spot transactions decreased by 0.7 percent to $32.64 per ounce. Platinum prices also decreased by 2.1 percent to $966.65, and palladium prices decreased by 1.9 percent to $968.43.
