Gold Hits Fresh Record High Above $5,000 an Ounce

Doha: Gold surged to a new record high on Monday, climbing above $5,000 an ounce, as investors increased their holdings of safe-haven assets amid escalating geopolitical tensions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the precious metal has gained around 64% this year, buoyed by easing US monetary policy, strong central bank demand, China's continued gold purchases, and record inflows into gold-backed exchange-traded funds.
