Manama, The Government Hospitals Administration has received accreditation for three additional medical specialties programmes from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), bringing the total number of accredited programmes to 16. This achievement underscores the administration's status as an internationally recognised educational and training facility. The newly accredited specialties include Ophthalmology, Emergency Medicine, and Dermatology. These join the previously accredited specialties: Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Diagnostic Radiology, Neurosciences, Anesthesiology, Anatomical Pathology, Psychiatry, Pediatric Surgery, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Otolaryngology. The Government Hospitals stated that this accomplishment aligns with their ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom. They emphasised the importance of medical training as a cornerstone for developing the skills of healthcare professionals to imp rove the level of care provided to the community. The administration affirmed its commitment to offering an exceptional educational environment for both trainers and trainees, grounded in the principles of healthcare education, which would ensure that trainees receive high-quality training that prepares them for safe and competent professional practice. Additionally, the hospitals strive to meet institutional and programmatic accreditation standards, utilizing all available administrative, educational, and clinical resources for specialized medical training programmes.
