Government Media Office in Gaza Reports Movement Through Rafah Crossing

Gaza: The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that 640 Palestinians have successfully traveled through the Rafah crossing since the start of February, with 508 returning to the Strip. The Israeli occupation authorities, however, have prevented 26 individuals from traveling.

According to Qatar News Agency, the office highlighted that the crossing was entirely closed last Friday and Saturday. It further detailed that the total number of travelers in both directions since the reopening of the crossing has reached 1,148, out of an expected 3,400, indicating a compliance rate of approximately 33 percent.

Ali Shaath, Head of the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), previously emphasized that the reopening of the Rafah land crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt is more than an administrative measure. It marks the beginning of a new trajectory and serves as a significant hope for Palestinians in the Strip. He stressed that the operation of the crossing is a collaborative achievement, involving partners dedicated to facilitating movement, and is a fundamental part of the 20-point plan presented by US President Donald Trump to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
