Gulf Delegation Reviews MoEHE’s Experience in Information Security

A delegation of cybersecurity and information technology professionals in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) had a comprehensive knowledge of experience pursued by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in information security.

The delegation visited Qatar within the framework of exchanging field trips at theoretical and practical levels organized by ABEGS for information security professionals to enhance knowledge and expertise sharing, as well as trailblazing scientific and practical experiences to have a glimpse of the best practices applicable in this field, including the cutting-edge programs utilized by MoEHE in this regard.

HE Undersecretary of MoEHE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi underscored the importance of sharing expertise in cybersecurity and employing best practices to protect systems and networks from malicious attacks and ensure their stability, enhance seamless flow of data and its privacy, and achieve aspirations and ambitions of education's communities in GCC states.

Al Nuaimi called for synergistic efforts to achieve the highest standards of cybersecurity and information security, noting the importance of Artificial Intelligence security in lockstep with all other areas of cybersecurity.

During the session dedicated to IT management within the program of the Gulf delegation's visit, Director of Information Systems Department at MoEHE Eng. Mona Salem Al Fadhli highlighted the approach of cybersecurity and its relationship with MoEHE's strategy and National Cybersecurity Strategy, including the best practices implemented during Qatar's hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

Strategic Planning Researcher at the Technical Office of the Minister's Office Wadha Al-Thani discussed MoEHE 's strategy for 2023-2030, its themes, educational system's potential and pillars.

In addition, technical professionals discussed cloud migration of MoEHE's systems and network components, along with the most important systems and digital service MoEHE offers to a segment of its beneficiaries presented by a contingent of MoEHE's professionals and concerned entities.

An interactive dialogue was also organized with the delegation's members which focused on the criticality of security considerations in adopting AI's tools to keep up with the rapid evolutions in IT fields.
