Doha: Representatives from Gulf legislative councils and a delegation from the Swedish Parliament held a session of talks at the Shura Council headquarters in Doha on Wednesday. The session focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination in regional and global issues, with the participants discussing the relationship between Gulf legislative councils and the Swedish Parliament, in addition to the importance of bilateral coordination in international forums, especially the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)'s Assembly. According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions also covered boosting cooperation in artificial intelligence and technology ethics, as well as the role of parliaments in addressing global challenges such as conflicts, wars, pandemics, climate change, and food security. The participants reviewed best practices to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The participants underlined the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the Gulf countries and Sweden, to advance p arliamentary cooperation and joint efforts, in pursuit of achieving regional development and stability.
