Gulf Padel Championship Wraps Up with UAE and Kuwait Dominating

Doha: The second edition of the Gulf Padel Championship, organized by the Qatar Padel Federation, concluded today at the Padel In courts in Aspire Zone. The event was hailed a success, showcasing competitive matches across different categories. According to Qatar News Agency, the tournament featured teams from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. It followed a round-robin format, where each team competed in the men's, women's, and junior categories. The UAE men's team claimed the gold medal, with Qatar securing the silver after defeating Bahrain 2-1 in the final match. Kuwait finished third in the men's category, earning the bronze medal. In the women's category, the Kuwaiti team emerged victorious, taking home the gold medal. They were followed by the UAE team in second place with the silver medal, while the Saudi team claimed the bronze. The junior category saw Kuwait clinch the top spot again, with the UAE and Saudi Arabia following in second and third places, respectively. The event concluded with a coronation ceremony held in a special atmosphere at the main court. Sultan Khalfan, the tournament director, expressed satisfaction with the tournament's success. He noted the strong performance of the Qatari national team, which secured second place in the men's category. Khalfan highlighted that the competition was intense and served as a motivation for further growth in the sport of padel. He also mentioned that this tournament sets the stage for Qatar's upcoming hosting of the Asian Padel Championship next month, reinforcing the country's organizational capabilities and commitment to hosting top-tier sporting events. For his part, Mohammed Sadoun Al Kuwari, a Qatari padel player, acknowledged Qatar's successful organization of the Gulf Championship, emphasizing the country's ability to host such events honorably.
