H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs in New York

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has met with Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the UAE-Cypriot strategic relations, and ways to further develop joint cooperation between the two friendly countries across various domains. They also reviewed issues on the agenda of the 77th session of the General Assembly, including climate change, renewable energy and food security.

 

The two diplomats exchanged views on enhancing stability in the region to meet the aspirations of its peoples for further development and prosperity, and touched on developments on the regional and international arenas.

 

Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the depth of the UAE-Cypriot ties and the two countries’ keenness to strengthen cooperation and support their efforts to achieve sustainable growth at all levels.

 

The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations.
