H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Dr. Subramnyam Jay Shankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers meeting, which is being held on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
His Highness and His Excellency Dr. Subramnyam Jay Shankar discussed ways to enhance the solid historical relations that unite the UAE and India within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, in order to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries to do more work to advance bilateral relations to broader horizons in various fields.
The two sides reviewed cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries in order to advance global efforts to confront the challenges the world is witnessing by strengthening international cooperation and solidarity.
The two sides also discussed all regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged views on them.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the Emirati-Indian relations are becoming more and more solid with the support and care of the leaderships of the two friendly countries, and their keenness to strengthen and develop these relations in all fields to enhance the process of sustainable development and achieve more prosperity and prosperity.
His Highness said that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, "may God protect him", appreciates the visit of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the friendly Republic of India to the UAE, and for his sincere brotherly and friendly feelings towards the leadership and people of the UAE, wishing India further progress, development and prosperity.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Subramnyam Jay Shankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, stressed the depth and strength of the strategic relations between his country and the UAE, and his keenness to develop these relations to broader horizons in order to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships of the two friendly countries for further progress, development and growth.
During the meeting, the two sides pointed out the growing strategic relations between the two friendly countries, which culminated recently in the signing of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and India with the participation of the leaderships of the two countries, to inaugurate a new era of economic cooperation, strengthening historical relations between them, and mutual access to markets and economic and investment opportunities, thus raising the non-oil infrastructure trade to more $100 billion over five years.
