Hamas Releases Two Israeli Hostages as Part of Prisoner Exchange Deal in Gaza

Doha: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) released two Israeli prisoners held in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza as part of the seventh batch of the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal with the Israeli entity, which is being implemented under the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, Hamas announced that it decided to release six prisoners as part of the seventh batch of the exchange deal with the Israeli entity. The hostages include Eliya Cohen, Omer Shem Tov, Omer Wenkert, Tal Shoham, Hisham Al Sayed, and Avera Mengistu.

A Qatari News Agency (QNA) correspondent reported that Hamas released Tal Shoham and Avera Mengistu from the city of Rafah in southern Gaza and is preparing to release the remaining four prisoners from the Al Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

An Israeli Red Cross representative received Avraham Mengistu and Tal Shoham and transported them to the Israeli occupation army, which later announced that it had received them.

It is expected that the Israeli occupation authorities will release a new batch of Palestinian prisoners today as part of the exchange deal, as announced by Palestinian prisoner institutions and organizations.
