Head of Kamal Adwan Hospital in north of the Gaza Strip, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) use weapons that cause severe burns to the bodies of the injured. Speaking to the correspondent of Qatar News Agency , Abu Safiya, confirmed that the IOF use internationally banned weapons in its ongoing genocide on the Palestinians, which cause burns that are concentrated in the upper part of the body and ultimately lead to death. Dr. Abu Safiya explained that, despite the increasing number of injuries suffering from burns due to the Israeli bombardment, there are no specialized burn doctors in hospitals in northern Gaza to treat such cases, which intensifies the difficulty to deal with the cases, thus decreasing their chances of survival. In this context, the Government Media Office in Gaza stated earlier that, according to medical estimates, the weapons used by the IOF that cause this type of third-degree burns are missiles and bombs called thermal or chemical weapons, indic ating that these weapons are unconventional and internationally prohibited and forbidden from being used against humans. Such weapons cause a reaction between chemical substances and the skin, leading directly to the erosion of tissues in the bodies of martyrs and injured individuals, therefor causing severe pain and deep physical damage. They result in fatal and deadly burns within a brief period, and many civilians were murdered in this tragic manner. Source: Qatar News Agency
