The World Health Organization (WHO) warned Friday that the entire health system in the Gaza Strip will collapse if fuel flow is put to a halt following the closure of the Rafah and Harm Abu Salem border crossings. During the weekly press briefing at the United Nations office in Geneva, spokesperson for WHO Margaret Harris stated that the WHO has supported some health facilities in Gaza, including Nasser Hospital, following the Israel's ground offensive into Rafah on May 6. She emphasized that this measure was enforced as part of an emergency plan despite the ground attack on Rafah in the southern part of the territory. The WHO is stockpiling health supplies in various hospitals, including the field ones, as well as certain areas, Harris stated, underscoring the importance of getting fuel into Gaza. Without this fuel all WHO hospitals will stop functioning and it will be impossible to conduct life-saving treatments. Also, the healthcare system will entirely crumble, sparking a catastrophic situation for al l once the health system is destroyed, Harris added Source: Qatar News Agency
