Her Highness Sheikha Moza Attends Arab Global Scholars Annual Gathering at Qatar Foundation.

Doha: Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), attended the opening of the Arab Global Scholars (AGS) Annual Gathering. The event saw participation from various dignitaries including Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers, and executive leaders from both government and private sectors. According to Qatar News Agency, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser remarked on the gathering, highlighting its roots as a continuation of the Arab Expatriate Scientists Conference initiated in 2006. She expressed satisfaction in meeting a wide community of scientists, innovators, and industry partners, emphasizing the goal of strengthening partnerships. She noted the role of technology in facilitating global collaboration among AGS members to bolster the region's ability to address 21st-century challenges. The three-day event includes contributions from Arab experts worldwide, focusing on sciences and humanities, with dialogues and workshops organized by Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) . The event, held at HBKU's Minaretein building, represents QF's commitment to fostering a modern renaissance in Arab science and research. It aims to reconnect scholars with Arab roots to contribute positively to the region's future. The first day featured a panel on the role of Arab intellectuals in shaping the Arab renaissance, discussing efforts to tackle educational, technological, social, and economic challenges. The second day will feature a distinguished address by Dr. Usama Fayyad on advancements in AI and Generative AI. The gathering will conclude with a panel on the role of Arab intellectuals in post-conflict recovery, exploring how their expertise can be leveraged to support conflict-affected communities. Attendees will also engage in workshops, discussions, and visits to partner organizations over the next two days. AGS, originally stemming from QF's Arab Expatriate Scientists Network, has evolved into an innovation-focused community linking Arab scholars, research institutes, and industry par tners. Its member and partner organizations include over 14 key institutions within and beyond Qatar.
