Beirut - Ma'an - The Lebanese Hezbollah party said in a statement issued on Tuesday evening that "mysterious reasons" led to the explosions of mobile devices, noting that a "broad investigation" is being conducted into the matter. Hezbollah said in a statement that "at approximately 3:30 pm on Tuesday 09-17-2024, a number of messaging devices known as 'pagers' exploded." He stressed that the devices "are in the possession of a number of employees in various Hezbollah units and institutions." He stated that "the explosions, the causes of which are still unknown, led to the martyrdom of a girl and two brothers, and a large number of people were injured with various wounds." He pointed out that "the competent agencies in Hezbollah are currently conducting a wide-ranging security and scientific investigation to determine the reasons that led to these simultaneous explosions." According to the same statement, "medical and health services are treating the wounded and injured in a number of hospitals in various Lebanese regions." Hezbollah called for "paying attention to the rumors and false and misleading information that some parties are spreading in a way that serves the psychological war in the interest of the Zionist enemy, especially since this is accompanied by speeches of intimidation and threats to the Zionist enemy, and what it calls changing the situation in the north." Hezbollah stressed that "the resistance, at all levels and in all its units, is at the highest level of readiness to defend Lebanon and its steadfast people." The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that at least 1,200 people have been infected so far. Source: Maan News Agency
