HH the Amir and German Chancellor Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz held an official session of talks at the Amiri Diwan. The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir welcomed HE the Chancellor and his delegation, expressing hope that the visit would enhance bilateral relations. Chancellor Merz thanked HH the Amir for the warm reception and emphasized Germany's commitment to strengthening ties, particularly in economic and investment sectors.

The discussions focused on supporting and expanding strategic relations in various sectors, including economy, investment, trade, energy, and military cooperation. The session also addressed key regional and international issues and developments.

The talks were attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and several other ministers and senior officials. On the German side, a number of high-ranking officials and members of the official delegation were present.

The leaders also held a bilateral meeting to exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest. Following the discussions, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE the Chancellor and his delegation.

Prior to the talks, Chancellor Merz was received with an official ceremony at the Amiri Diwan.
