Riyadh: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council at Al-Yamamah Palace on Monday. At the outset, HRH Crown Prince welcomed HH the Amir and his delegation, underscoring the strong and historic relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
According to Qatar News Agency, HRH Crown Prince praised the council's role in bolstering bilateral ties and affirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing relations for the benefit of both nations. HH the Amir expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, highlighting the agreements signed during the visit as a testament to the strong partnership and cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized Qatar's commitment to enhancing fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia to support regional security, peace, and prosperity.
The meeting covered discussions on strengthening relations in various partnership areas, such as political, security, military, energy, industry, economy, investment, trade, technology, infrastructure, culture, tourism, and education. Both sides also reviewed developments on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
HH the Amir and HRH Crown Prince witnessed the exchange of an agreement for a high-speed electric rail link and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting direct investment and food security cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting was attended by a lineup of ministers and officials from both Qatar and Saudi Arabia, signifying the importance of this bilateral engagement. The session concluded with the signing of the minutes of the eighth meeting, reinforcing the commitments made.
HH the Amir and HRH Crown Prince also held a bilateral meeting prior to the council session to discuss shared interests. To honor HH the Amir and his delegation, HRH Crown Prince hosted a luncheon banquet.
