Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held talks with HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa, focusing on regional and international developments. The discussions took place at the Amiri Diwan, where HH the Amir welcomed the Syrian president and his delegation, expressing hope that the visit would strengthen cooperation and expand ties between the two countries across various sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE President Al Sharaa expressed gratitude for the warm reception in Doha, reaffirming Syria's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations. He emphasized that these efforts aim to serve the shared interests of both nations and their peoples. During the meeting, the Syrian president also conveyed solidarity with Qatar following recent Iranian attacks in the region, supporting Doha's actions to protect its sovereignty and security.
HH the Amir appreciated Syria's supportive stance, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the two sides. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to regional security and stability while exploring ways to further develop bilateral relations. The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both countries, including HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al Shaibani.
Following the talks, HH the Amir and HE the Syrian president engaged in a separate bilateral session to exchange views on key issues of mutual interest. The discussions concluded with an official luncheon hosted in honor of the Syrian delegation.
