Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has issued Amiri Decision No. 10 of 2026, reconstituting the Board of Trustees of Qatar University. Under this decision, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board, with HE Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Ali bin Saoud Al-Thani serving as the Vice Chairperson.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newly formed board includes notable members such as HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, and HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater. Other distinguished members include HE Dr Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and HE Dr Hanan bint Mohammed Al Kuwari. The board is further strengthened by the inclusion of HE Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, HE Dr Hessa bint Sultan Al Jaber, HE Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Thani, Nasser Khalil Al Jaida, and Professor Hissa Mohammed Sadiq.

The decision also grants the Chairperson the authority to appoint additional members who possess relevant competence, expertise, and academic standing, either from within Qatar or internationally. The decision is set to be implemented immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
