Amman: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived on Wednesday in Amman, marking the start of an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Upon arrival at Marka International Airport, HH the Amir was greeted by HM King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.
According to Qatar News Agency, the welcoming delegation included prominent Jordanian officials such as HE Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, HE Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Al Safadi, HE President of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Ababneh, and HE President of the Constitutional Court Mohammad Ghazou. Also present were HE Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al Safadi, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani, and HE Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Qatar Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi. Several other members of the Jordanian government, civilian and military officials, and members of the Qatari Embassy were also in attendance.
HH the Amir was given an official reception ceremony upon his arrival. He is accompanied by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and an official delegation. The arrival was marked by a display of respect from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, as four F-16 fighter jets escorted HH the Amir's plane into Jordanian airspace. Additionally, a 21-gun salute was fired to honor His Highness' visit.
