Doha: Al Duhail reached the quarter-finals of HH the Amir Cup 2026 after defeating Al Waab, a second-division team, 2-0 Thursday at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium in the opening match of the Round of 16 in Qatar's premier football tournament.
According to Qatar News Agency, the goals were scored by Algerian Adel Boulbina from a penalty kick in the 26th minute and Polish Krzysztof Piatek in the 86th minute.
Al Duhail secured the first quarter-final spot and will face the winner of tomorrow's match between Al Arabi and Al Shahaniya, scheduled for Friday at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
