Doha: Mesaimeer, Lusail, Al Sailiya, and Al Kharaitiyat have qualified for the Round of 16 in HH the Amir Football Cup after winning their respective preliminary round matches on Monday. According to Qatar News Agency, Mesaimeer secured their place in the next round by defeating Al Markhiya 2-1 at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium in Al Gharafa. In another match, Lusail triumphed over Al Waab at the Grand Hamad Stadium, ensuring their advancement. Al Sailiya managed a narrow victory against Muaither, winning 1-0 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Al Duhail. Meanwhile, Al Kharaitiyat overcame Al Bidda 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shootout after their match ended 1-1 in regulation time at Suheim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC. The draw for the Round of 16 is scheduled for Thursday, where the top teams from the Ooredoo Stars League will join the four teams that advanced from the second division.
