HH the Amir Participates in G20 Summit and Begins Official Visit to Costa Rica.

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani took part in the G20 Summit 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting Qatar's commitment to active participation in international forums. According to Qatar News Agency, the summit addressed crucial global issues such as social inclusion, hunger and poverty eradication, energy transitions, sustainable development, and global governance reforms. The participation of HH the Amir underscored Qatar's elevated standing globally, attributed to his wise leadership and Qatar's significant contributions to international peace, security, sustainable development, and multilateral action against global challenges. HH the Amir expressed his hope that the summit's outcomes would lead to solutions for pressing global issues, fostering a future of peace and prosperity. Following the G20 Summit, HH the Amir is scheduled to begin an official visit to Costa Rica. This visit aims to strengthen Qatar's economic and political ties, particularly with Latin American countries, and to explore new markets and opportunities for Qatari investments. Additionally, HH the Amir will attend the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award ceremony in San Jose, Costa Rica. Launched in 2016, the award recognizes efforts in combating corruption and promotes the measures outlined by the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Vice-Chairman of the NHRC, emphasized the award's international significance and its role in enhancing global cooperation against corruption.
