Doha: HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), were present at a significant event celebrating 30 years of Qatar Foundation's efforts in fostering human potential and contributing to local, regional, and international development.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatar Foundation 30 Years Anniversary Celebration took place at Education City, specifically at Al Shaqab, a location with special meaning for the founders of QF. The event was also attended by HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, alongside various sheikhs, ministers, ambassadors, and dignitaries.
The celebration highlighted Qatar Foundation's impact over three decades in education, science, research, and community development. It also acknowledged the significant role of QF's partners and stakeholders, emphasizing that shared objectives and collaboration enhance societal benefits.
In her speech, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser reflected on a pivotal moment in 1995 when the elements needed to establish Qatar Foundation came together. She highlighted the foundation's journey over the past thirty years, driven by ambition and determination to achieve goals that are both national and international in scope. During the event, HH the Father Amir and HH Sheikha Moza planted seeds beneath an illuminated Sidra tree image, QF's emblem, symbolizing the foundation's beginnings.
Attendees heard personal stories from individuals impacted by QF, with letters starting "Dear QF" recounting experiences in education, innovation, citizenship, and sustainability. Among these was a letter from Dr. Mohamed Eltabakh, Principal Scientist at Qatar Computing Research Institute, who shared his journey and reasons for choosing to work with Qatar Foundation due to its supportive environment for research and innovation.
Additionally, the event offered immersive experiences for guests to learn more about QF's impact over the years and explore the development of Education City through interactive journeys.
