H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, and Vice-President of the European Commission.
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers meeting, which is being held on the island of Bali, Indonesia, the two sides discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and the European Union and ways to enhance prospects for joint cooperation in all fields.
His Highness and His Excellency Josep Borrell reviewed joint cooperation and coordination in facing the current global challenges the world is witnessing, in addition to geopolitical factors and their impact on achieving global stability and prosperity.
The two sides also discussed all regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged views on them.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "may God protect him", is keen to work with the European Union on all issues of common interest to enhance cooperation in facing global challenges.
For his part, His Excellency Josep Borrell stressed that the UAE and the European Union are linked by solid strategic relations and partnership, expressing his aspirations to strengthen this partnership to broader horizons, which contributes to achieving global stability and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State.
