Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain sent a cable of condolences to His Excellency Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the former Prime Minister and head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). His Majesty expressed his sincere condolences to HE President Abbas and the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of Palestinian unity and solidarity to achieve their legitimate rights and establish an independent state based on the two-state solution.
