Manama, Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan on the sidelines of the 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain at Al Sakhir Palace. HM King Hamad welcomed HM King Abdullah and thanked him for accepting the invitation to participate in this historic Arab Summit. HM King Abdullah expressed his gratitude for HM King Hamad's generous hospitality and for the outstanding preparations and organisation of the summit. During the meeting, Their Majesties discussed bilateral relations and developing cooperation across various fields. They expressed pride in the strong ties between the two kingdoms and their peoples, emphasising their commitment to further developing these relations. The two leaders expressed their hope that the Arab Summit would contribute to consolidating Arab unity and joint Arab actions to address challenges. They emphasised the importance of advancing the capabilities of Arab countries and promoting development in the Arab world to fulfil the aspirations of Arab countries and their people for further progress and prosperity. HM King Abdullah hailed the steadfast position and role of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in supporting Arab issues and bolstering joint Arab action and highlighted, lauding His Majesty's wise stances on regional issues. Their Majesties discussed the developments in the Middle East, focusing on efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and address the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
