Manama, His Royal highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued Edict (21) of 2024, granting the National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) observer status in a number of national committees, based on the request of NIHR, and following the approval of the Cabinet. Article (I) The NIHR shall be granted observer status in the following national committees: 1- The National Commission for Childhood. 2- The High Committee for the Care of People with Disabilities. 3- The National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons. 4- The National Committee for Elderly. Article (II) The heads of the national committees referred to in Article I of this edict shall invite the NIHR to attend their meetings. The institution will not have a counted vote in their deliberations. The NIHR shall determine who will represent it at the meetings of the national committees mentioned in Article I of this edict. Article (III) The Ministers and those concerned - each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which will come into effect upon its issuance in the Official Gazette.
