IFRC Spokesperson Calls Gaza Crisis “Continuous Nightmare”

Gaza: Spokesperson for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Tommaso Della Longa said Wednesday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate not just month by month, but hour by hour, due to the ongoing genocide committed by Israeli forces.

According to Qatar News Agency, Della Longa highlighted the devastating impact of Israel's blockade, which has prevented humanitarian aid and medical supplies from reaching Palestinians for over two months. Speaking to the press about the worsening crisis in Gaza, he emphasized the dire conditions faced by the local population.

Describing daily life in Gaza, Della Longa stated that it is a continuous nightmare, with millions of people lacking necessities such as food, water, and healthcare. He underscored the severity of the situation, portraying a bleak picture of the region's current state.

Della Longa stressed that the Palestinian Red Crescent continues its operations with extremely limited resources, adding that aid deliveries to Gaza have been halted for more than 60 days, resulting in nothing getting in. He painted a picture of a humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the ongoing blockade.

He further noted that less than half of the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances are operating in Gaza, and medical supplies in hospitals and clinics are depleting rapidly. The situation worsens every hour, signaling an urgent need for international intervention and support.
