Doha: Citizen inmates of the Penal and Correctional Institutions Department participated today in the referendum on the draft constitutional amendments for the year 2024 to the Permanent Constitution of the State of Qatar. The General Referendum Committee prepared a venue for referendum within the Penal and Correctional Institutions Department to facilitate and ensure the smooth and easy participation of the inmates. According to Qatar News Agency, the measures were taken to ensure that all eligible citizens, irrespective of their circumstances, had the opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed amendments. This initiative highlights the inclusivity of the constitutional process in Qatar, ensuring that the voices of all citizens, including those in correctional facilities, are heard and considered.
