Intensive Israeli Air Strikes Hit Sidon, Baalbek, Bint Jbeil, Nabatieh in Southern Lebanon

Sidon: The Israeli army renewed its attacks and targeting of villages and towns in southern Lebanon Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes launched 13 violent air strikes on several towns in the city of Sidon, including a raid on the outskirts of the town of Shamstar, west of Baalbek, and the area between the towns of Roumin and Houmin, as well as an air strike between the towns of Sarafand and Bisariyeh.

Israeli warplanes also launched two raids on the town of Bnaafoul, and a drone targeted the road between the towns of Sharqiya and Kawthariyeh al Siyad with a guided missile. An Israeli drone dropped an incendiary bomb on the town of Deirantar in the Bint Jbeil district.

Israeli warplanes carried out mock raids over southern regions, flying at low altitudes. The Lebanese News Agency reported that an Israeli drone raided the Ali al Taher area on the northern outskirts of the town of Nabatieh al Fawqa in southern Lebanon.

Israeli forces carried out a large-scale combing operation using machine guns on the outskirts of Khiyam. An Israeli drone also targeted the road between the towns of Sharqiya and Kawthariya al Siyad with a guided missile.

It is worth noting that the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon went into effect on November 27, 2024, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. Following this, the Lebanese government agreed to extend the deadline until February 18. However, the Israeli army remained at five points and continued its violations.
