Interior Ministry marks International Day of Police Cooperation

The Ministry of Interior marked the International Day of Police Cooperation, which was designated by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The occasion also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, expressed the ministry’s appreciation for the Interpol's efforts to support police agencies globally, as well as to provide all necessary resources to combat crime and maintain international peace and security.

The minister that in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; the ministry gives high importance to effectively contribute to international security cooperation efforts.

He highlighted the ministry's cooperation with United Nations (UN) agencies, such as the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the UN Office of Counter Terrorism, in order to exchange expertise and implement recommendations related to security, counterterrorism, and cross-border crime, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.
