Manama, The Ministry of Interior has announced that the police have taken legal action and arrested several individuals involved in recent unlawful riots. Some of those arrested had previously benefitted from the royal pardon, having been released after serving sentences for various criminal offences. The statement added: 'Despite this opportunity, they have reoffended. Additionally, some of the detainees are minors, and legal proceedings have commenced against them.' The Ministry, as the law enforcement authority, will hand over the minors to their guardians in accordance with legal procedures, implementing Article 55 of the Child Restorative Justice and Protection from Maltreatment Law. This article stipulates penalties of imprisonment and fines for those responsible for a child's care if their negligence results in significant physical or psychological harm to the child, thus holding parents and guardians accountable for their children's welfare. The Ministry of Interior emphasised that dealing with th ese disturbances is carried out in accordance with the law, as such actions threaten public peace and social cohesion. The Ministry reiterated that maintaining Bahrain's stability is a national duty, requiring everyone to preserve the security and national achievements.
