International Athletics Federation Suspends Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk for Four Years

Doha: The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) announced the suspension of Ukrainian athlete Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk for four years after testing positive for banned substances. The federation Integrity Unit stated in a press release today that the 30-year-old athlete will miss the next two World Championships and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles due to testing positive for testosterone.

According to Qatar News Agency, a test conducted on Romanchuk in December during her training in the Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi showed abnormally high levels of testosterone. Her suspension will end in May 2029.

Maryna Romanchuk previously won two silver medals in the triple jump at the World Championships in Doha in 2019 and in Hungary in 2023.
