Addis Ababa, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired the Arab side in the 20th session of the Arab-African Partnership Coordination Committee at the senior officials' level. The meeting was held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Director General highlighted the significance of the outcomes of the 33rd Arab Summit (Bahrain Summit) and the initiatives proposed by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which were adopted by the summit. These initiatives aim to address key issues for regional stability and development, including the call for an international peace conference on the Middle East under the auspices of the United Nations, as stated in the Bahrain Declaration. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the President of the current session of the Arab Summit, on achieving sustainable solutions to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. It seeks to fulfil the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people for an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Director General noted Bahrain's readiness to host this conference. The Director General also reaffirmed Arab support for the efforts of African nations towards achieving greater development and prosperity for the peoples of the African continent. She stressed the importance of developing institutional cooperation between the Arab League and the African Union to address common issues effectively. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi, the Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Source: Bahrain News Agency
