International Organizations Department at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Organizes Workshop in Preparation for Doha’s Hosting of Second World Summit for Social Development

Doha: The International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences, organized a preparatory workshop with the participation of 45 governmental and private entities. The workshop is part of the State of Qatar's preparations, in partnership with the United Nations, to host the Second World Summit for Social Development, scheduled to be held in Doha from November 4 to 6.

According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop discussed the key issues to be raised at the summit and the logistical aspects of organizing side events, with the aim of enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders and ensuring the success of the summit and achieving its objectives.

The Second World Summit for Social Development in 2025 represents a pivotal moment to reaffirm the international commitment to the Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action on Social Development and to provide the necessary momentum to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, especially in light of the adoption of the "Charter for the Future" last year.

The conference also highlights Qatar's role as a regional and global hub for hosting major international events, enhancing its position in supporting development issues on the international stage.
