Doha: Qatar continues to dazzle the world by hosting FIP World Padel Championships Qatar 2024 for the second time in its history, said International Padel Federation President Luigi Carraro. Carraro told Qatar News Agency that Qatar always produced dazzling major tournaments and sporting events, adding that Doha would further develop the sport locally, regionally and internationally. According to Qatar News Agency, before the FIP World Padel Championships Qatar 2024, Qatar hosted three major Premier Padel tournaments and the 2021 World Championship. The decision to host these events in Qatar underscores the country's commitment to enhancing padel's profile globally. When the International Padel Federation decided to create Padel Asia, Doha was unanimously named as the permanent headquarters. This decision was made under the presidency of Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation, Tariq Zainal, acknowledging Qatar's efforts to boost padel globally, Carraro stated. Qatar 's consistent hosting of prestigious padel events, coupled with its strategic positioning as the headquarters for Padel Asia, reflects a broader ambition to position Doha as a central hub for the sport. This aligns with the nation's broader strategy to leverage major sporting events in enhancing its international sporting profile. Source: Qatar News Agency
