The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot two Palestinian children on Thursday, when they were near the apartheid separation wall in the town of Jayyous, east of Qalqilya city in the West Bank. Palestinian news agency (Wafa) reported Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) as saying that the children were injured by the Israeli live bullets, indicating that one was injured in the foot, while the other was injured with shrapnel in the foot and hand. The children were taken to the hospital, and their injuries were described as moderate, Wafa added. The IOF also stormed the town of Beit Fajjar in Bethlehem, and confrontations broke out, during which the IOF fired gas and sound bombs at Palestinians, causing several Palestinians to suffer from suffocation, after which the wounded were treated on the ground. On the other hand, the IOF arrested at least 18 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank in the past 24 hours, including freed captives. In a joint statement, Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and Pales tinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that most of the arrests took place in Bethlehem Governorate, while the others occurred in Ramallah, Nablus, Al-Khalil and Ariha. Since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, the number of arrests in the occupied West Bank has risen to 8,840 cases, the statement added, pointing out that these arrests included those who were arrested from homes or through military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.
