Iran, Afghanistan Discuss Enhancing Trade Cooperation

Istanbul: Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, met Wednesday with Afghan Minister of Trade and Industry, Nooruddin Azizi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of trade ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Istanbul, Turkiye, they also discussed ways to expand trade relations between Tehran and Kabul and increase the volume of goods exchanged between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions focused on identifying potential areas for collaboration and increasing the trade volume between Iran and Afghanistan. The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties, particularly in the context of the Economic Cooperation Organization's objectives. Both ministers expressed their commitment to facilitating smoother trade routes and addressing any existing barriers to trade between the neighboring countries.
