Iran called on the United Nations (UN) Security Council to hold an urgent meeting to condemn the recent Israeli strikes on the country. In a letter sent by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council President, Araghchi called for an urgent meeting of the council to take a decisive stance in condemning this Israeli aggression. Araghchi also stated in a TV interview that since Saturday, Iran has been receiving messages from different countries as well as many statements from the region and the globe condemning the aggressive operation of the Israeli entity. Iran's Foreign Minister said that although he wrote the letter, he does not believe that the UN Security Council can result in an outcome that would ease tension and stop the crimes of the Israeli entity.
